UMN Unable to Renew MOU Regarding Hospital Management
Posted on June 11, 2008 under News
In view of the possible government unwillingness to allow Human Development and Community Services (HDCS) to operate the Tansen and Okhaldhunga Mission Hospitals, UMN's Leadership Team has decided not to renew its Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with HDCS effective from mid-July 2008. The decision, believed to be the best solution to handling the future possibility of non-governmental cooperation in managing the two hospitals, came after prolonged intensive negotiations with all concerned parties.

Jennie Collins, UMN Executive Director, communicated to all staff at the two hospitals about this development. It is expected that all staff will now be employees of the hospitals themselves and will not be affiliated to UMN in any way.
