Dear friends of UMN,
Our hearts are heavy as we witness the devastation and national sorrow caused by the flood in Nepal these last few days. On behalf of United Mission to Nepal, I want to extend our deepest sympathies and prayers to the families and communities affected by the flood that has swept through the country, for those who have lost loved ones, homes, and their security.
All UMN staff in the Clusters and Kathmandu are safe. Some of our staff have experienced flooding in their houses and are currently clearing out the debris. At UMN, we are committed to assessing the situation in our clusters and doing our part alongside relief agencies and government authorities to provide aid, if the need arises. However, as of now, we will not be involved in any relief work in Kathmandu.
In this difficult time, we have been uplifted by the concerns our friends and well wishers have shown. We ask you for your continuous prayers for those who have been impacted.
We will keep you updated.
Thank you,
Dhana Lama
