Madhesh Province is situated in the southern Terai region of eastern Nepal, bordering India, and is home to approx 21% of Nepal’s population. This province is crucial for labour mobility, commerce and cultural exchange due to its agricultural production and extensive cross-border trade with India.
In Madhesh Province, UMN works to ensure children’s rights, freedom from all kinds of discrimination, and access to quality education. It also addresses harmful practices and violence while promoting improved social, physical and mental health outcomes, gender equality, and inclusive development for people experiencing multiple marginalisations.
