UMN Medical and Development Trust (UMN MDT) was established on 7 October 2020 (2077/06/21 BS) as per the Civil Code 2074, article no 318 and sub section 1.
The primary purpose of UMN MDT is to own, manage and operate two long-serving mission hospitals – United Mission Hospital Tansen and Okhaldhunga Community Hospital with their associated medical teaching facilities. In addition to this, UMN MDT’s work also involves development work in the communities around health, education and self-reliance of the poorest people in rural Nepali communities in order to build skills development and to create helpful opportunities for them.
UMN MDT runs two hospitals in Tansen and Okhakdhunga and its community development work is spread in six districts of Nepal.

The overall governance and direction of UMN MDT is the responsibility of the UMN Board of Trustees.
