“Kapilvastu District is a high-risk disaster area,” says Ram Nath Ojha, UMN’s Disaster Management Manager.

To prepare the Standard Operating Procedures guidelines for the Local Emergency Operation Centre, a two-day workshop was organised jointly by UMN and its partner, Dalit Social Development Centre (DSDC), and the local government of Yashodhara Rural Municipality, Kapilvastu, on 16 and 17 March 2026.

These guidelines will support making humanitarian response mechanisms more effective, timely, and well-coordinated at the local level.
