1. Mainstreaming Do No Harm
To pursue peace and justice for all is one of the key mission statements of UMN. We try our best to minimise harm and promote peace through UMN's work. We support the project team and staff to mainstream Do No Harm* and Conflict Sensitivity** approaches to identify the potential conflicts which may take place UMN and its partners' teams and projects and address them positively on time. We are also integrating Conflict Sensitivity by coordinating and collaborating with stakeholders.

2. Learning, Sharing and Documentation
Learning, sharing and documentation are some of the key focus areas of Conflict Sensitivity. We harvest cross-learning while mainstreaming Conflict Sensitivity at different levels, such as community groups, UMN partners, project teams in the field (clusters) and UMN headquarters. We disseminate the learnings among project teams and partner organisations and support them to replicate the learnings in their own projects' context and work situations.
3. Review Analysis and Mitigation
Despite our sensitivity and best efforts to manage projects and programmes, we have to face different unintended results of projects within UMN and its partners’ teams and projects as well as the community, including local government stakeholders. We support project teams to analyse potential conflicts arising from programmes, to prevent the potential risks and harms which could arise from conflicts.

4. Handling Workplace Conflict
Conflict at work is inevitable, and although we can’t entirely avoid it, we can respond and resolve it. If we handle workplace conflict positively, we can bring synergy to our team and workplace, but if we handled badly, it becomes more destructive. We support UMN and its partner staff to handle workplace conflicts constructively to bring positive results and learning.
