Baleshwar Bishwakarma and his family of Amaduwa, Sunsari, were able to receive emergency relief food packets through UMN’s partner CMC soon after the flood, which lasted a few days. As they are daily wage┬аlabourers, they did not have stored food or grains in their damaged house. Sadly, the rice crops that they had planted in a rented land has been washed away. The emergency packet contained mostly dry food items.

“I am grateful for what I have received but now my children are asking more frequently for cooked meals, can you please help us ?” ┬аDistraught Baleshwar shared his feelings with our staff.┬а

After the┬аshort term┬аemergency food distribution, UMN staff,┬аpartners┬аand volunteers are now working with extraordinary commitment to reach out to more families like Baleswhar’s with a┬аmonth long┬аsupply of food, hygiene and dignity kits.
