Cooked food – a father’s plea!
Cooked food – a father’s plea!
Baleshwar Bishwakarma and his family of Amaduwa, Sunsari, were able to receive emergency relief food packets through UMN’s partner CMC soon after the flood, which lasted a few days. As they are daily wage labourers, they did not have stored food or grains in their damaged house. Sadly, the rice crops that they had planted in a rented land has been washed away. The emergency packet contained mostly dry food items.

“I am grateful for what I have received but now my children are asking more frequently for cooked meals, can you please help us ?”  Distraught Baleshwar shared his feelings with our staff.

After the short term emergency food distribution, UMN staff, partners and volunteers are now working with extraordinary commitment to reach out to more families like Baleswhar’s with a month long supply of food, hygiene and dignity kits.
