We are very sad to report the passing away of Dr. Dick Harding on 12 December 2016 at the age of 79. He died in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA where he and his wife lived since retiring from missionary service in Nepal in 2001.

 

Dr Harding and his wife Suzanne came to Nepal first in 1970. He served at the Tansen Hospital as a medical doctor and then later in ’78 as the hospital director for two years. Some years later he committed his time in Nepal to working in the Community Development Health Programme (CDHP) Lalitpur in 1991 as the director.

He passed away peacefully after being admitted for heart-related issues.  He struggled many years because of his heart: a heart that was one of the most open, loving and generous hearts we know. Suzanne has severe dementia and is confined to the nursing care facility at the retirement residence where Dr. Harding also lived.

Nepal and the Nepali people were always in Dr. Dick’s thoughts and prayers until the end.
