We are sad to report the passing away of Elisabeth Barrie during the night on March 5. She was 75 years old.

 

She had been a volunteer at the retreat on Holy Island when she had a massive stroke.

She first came to Nepal in December 29, 1999 and served as Expatriate Staff Children’s Education Advisor from March 2000 until June 2003. Later on she was the Expat Kids Transition Team Leader. From September 2005, she continued as Expat Education Coordinator and Tutorial Group Resource Centre Coordinator. In July 2006 she completed with UMN and left Nepal. In 2010 she came to serve at the Tansen Tutorial Group for nine months. She was Dr. Katrina Butterworth’s mother who also served in UMN.

 

She loved the people of Nepal and served with a dedicated heart. Our prayers are with the Butterworths and her family.
