Friday afternoon 31 January was one of those sad/happy occasions: sad, because we were farewelling a group of young people who have been part of our UMN family for a whole year, but happy, because we know we are sending them out equipped and empowered to serve God and the people of Nepal.
Each year, UMN accepts 10 young Nepali Christians, providing opportunities for professional practice as well as training in more general development and personal skills. The programme helps young people understand the biblical foundations for development work, through a focus on integral mission. The majority of UMN’s interns find work in other INGOs, churches and Christian organisations, using their skills in diverse ways, or go on to higher studies.
A big thank-you to the 2013 batch of interns, and our very best wishes as you go on to discover what God has for you in the future. We value your contribution to UMN during the year, and have loved having you with us.
