Forgiveness and Reconciliation
Forgiveness and Reconciliation

Part of the “job description” for God’s people is to build peace and heal hurts. Micah Network Nepal and UMN have been working together to help church leaders and the Christian community develop a forgiveness and reconciliation ministry. The ministry has brought about changes in the lives of many individuals, families and congregations.  It has helped reconciled broken families and divided churches, and strengthened the Christian community to come together for the common goal.

To reach out to a wider level of communities both at the grassroots and at the national level, a Nepali-context “Forgiveness and Reconciliation Training Manual” was developed by Micah Network and UMN, drawn from the experiences in Burundi. The training manual was jointly launched by David McConkey and Dr. Mahendra Bhattarai at the Universal Cafe on 8 July 2013 before more than 100 church and organisation leaders. There were also testimonies of two reconciliation life stories shared from Bhaktapur and Kathmandu on how the training impacted their lives.

The forgiveness and reconciliation trainings help individuals and communities to engage in a healing and reconciliation process by forgiving and accepting each other and bonding in a spiritual way. We hope that this manual will be a useful resource as a teaching and self-learning/healing tool for all.
