A truly fantastic time was had by all at the annual UMN Bhetghat (Gathering) at the Godavari Botanical Gardens last Thursday. The site was awash with blue T-shirts, as staff enjoyed fun and fellowship together. Sack races, musical chairs, and the inevitable Tug-o-war exposed hidden talents, and competitiveness!
A real highlight was the presence of Dr Carl and Betty Fredericks, who presented the awards for the year. Dr Carl and Betty were pioneer UMNers, who travelled to Nepal with the Flemings in the early 1950s and established the United Mission Hospital Tansen in 1954. It was a great delight to have them, and to hear some of their stories of the past.
All agreed it was one of the best Bhetghats we’ve had – the standards are set very high for next year!
