We are saddened to share with our friends the passing of Dr Digby Hoyal, former Director of United Mission Hospital Tansen, who passed away on September 23, 2026, in Australia, at the age of 86.

Dr Digby came to Nepal as a missionary in 1999 and served as Director of United Mission Hospital Tansen. During his years in Nepal, he gave dedicated service to the hospital and the community.

After retiring to Australia in 2004, Dr Digby and his wife, Anne continued to support many children and young people in Nepal, continuing to show their love for the people of Nepal. UMN gives thanks for Dr Digby’s life, his service in Nepal, and the example he leaves behind.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Anne and the Hoyal family at this time of loss. May they know the Lord’s comfort and peace in the days ahead.
