This International Day of the Girl Child, let’s end child marriage and invest in girls’ rights!

Growing up in a community where child marriage was common, *Meena feared she might face the same fate as her siblings of marrying at a young age. But a Gender Champion Volunteer training, organised by UMN and its local partner organisation, NPAF, opened up new possibilities. Through the training, she gained the confidence to speak about gender equality, child marriage and girls’ rights. Today, she co-facilitates community awareness sessions and inspires other young people to be part of positive change.
