We sadly report the passing of Dr. P.V. Chandy on 26 February 2016 in Kerala, South India at the age of 74. He had been bed-ridden for some time with alzheimers disease, and his wife Annie had been taking care of him.
Dr. Chandy came to Nepal with his wife in 1985 and both worked as teachers in Namjung High School. He then worked as a management consultant in UMN headquarters in 1987, and then as a Mission Support Programme Director in August 1991. His contribution as the Principal of Gandaki Boarding School in 1996 was significant. P.V. Chandy was awarded the Prabal Gorkha Dakshin Bahu Fourth by His Majesty the Late King Birendra on the occasion of the king’s 53rd birthday for his services to education.
His son Georgee and daughter Jeenie, who live in Canada, came for the funeral service which was held on Monday. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Chandy family during this difficult time.
