Warm and cozy in Rukum
Warm and cozy in Rukum

Ten-year-old Bipin Magar has just received the first gift of his life – a vest and warm pants provided by UMN Rukum.

It
gets mighty cold up in the hills in winter, so when UMN’s Rukum team
has distributed 190 items of clothing to local people at Rukum Musikot
on 17 January, it was much appreciated. All the winter clothes were
collected and donated by UMN staff in Rukum and Kathmandu. People gave a
donation of NRP 10 to 20 per item. In this way, NRP 2340 was collected
by UMN’s partner, Christian Society Development Campaign, towards a
scholarship fund that will support needy students. Altogether, 125
children, women and men received warm clothes. People were happy to have
warm clothes, some of them losing no time to put them on against the
chilly air. The smiling faces show their appreciation of this loving
care.

Pastor Abinash Magar of the local church was very thankful
to UMN staff for this support, and prayed for those who donated clothes.
