Prayer Points – August 23
Prayer Points – August 23
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, UMN invites all people of prayer to set aside time daily to ask for God’s help in our work in Nepal. The time suggested for UMN staff is 3.00 pm. For our friends around the world, we ask that you join us either at the equivalent time in your country of 3 pm Nepal time, or whenever you are able. Many have found setting a daily alarm on their phone a useful reminder.
Thank you for your fellowship in prayer.
Joel Hafvenstein

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will direct your paths.
(Proverbs 3v5-6)
We encourage everyone who is praying for UMN not only to raise our requests but to listen to God on UMN’s behalf. Please take time to read this Bible verse slowly to yourself. Pause and ask God to speak through His Word. Then read it slowly again. Settle and calm your mind before you pray.
Major Matters for Prayer
  • Discussions over finalising our Project Agreements continued last week with some more hopeful signs, including a very constructive meeting with the committee that monitors INGO work. Please pray that agreement is reached smoothly and quickly for all of UMN’s working areas.

  • The appointment of Bishal to the position of Leader of the Project Partner Team (in succession of Dhana Lama) has been made. Please pray for Bishal as he prepares to move on from being Cluster Team Leader in Doti, to take up this very responsible role and membership of the Leadership Team.

  • Please pray for Shiva who has been appointed as a new Cluster Team Leader. He will move to Rukum East and Ramesh will move from there to Doti. Remember these leaders and their two teams as they all adjust to further changes.

  • Please pray for our Hospitals, which are seeking overdue reimbursement from the government Health Insurance Board for our participation in Nepal’s national health insurance scheme.  The delays in the reimbursement scheme need to be fixed if we are to continue participating in this important initiative.

  • Please continue to pray for Joel and his family as they make preparations to return to the UK due to being unable to renew visas. Pray also for other ex-pats whose work visas currently remain un-renewed. This is a very unsettling time.

  • The Central Project Advisory meeting went well and all of us were very encouraged. The Govt. Officials visited our office, and we had the meeting in physical presence. Also, that Dhading visit to see UMN’s work yesterday by 3 higher level govt. officials went well too.
