Prayer Points – July 26
Prayer Points – July 26
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, UMN invites all people of prayer to set aside time daily to ask for God’s help in our work in Nepal. The time suggested for UMN staff is 3.00 pm. For our friends around the world, we ask that you join us either at the equivalent time in your country of 3 pm Nepal time, or whenever you are able. Many have found setting a daily alarm on their phone a useful reminder.
Thank you for your fellowship in prayer.
Joel Hafvenstein

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
(Hebrews 4:16)
We encourage everyone who is praying for UMN not only to raise our requests but to listen to God on UMN’s behalf. Please take time to read this Bible verse slowly to yourself. Pause and ask God to speak through His Word. Then read it slowly again. Settle and calm your mind before you pray.
Major Matters for Prayer
  • Recently a number of new staff have been appointed to new posts. Please pray for these new members of the UMN family that they will settle to new responsibilities quickly and feel a sense of unity and support from everyone as we work together to bring fullness of life to the people of Nepal.

  • Please continue in prayer for our Leadership Team, especially for Joel and Dhana Lama as they work at handing over Executive Director responsibilities. Pray also for the process of appointing a new Programme Partner Team Leader (Dhana’s previous role). It is vital to find the right people in key leadership posts. Pray both for the process and also those who will have to make decisions to appoint.

  • Remember the work of our hospitals. The pandemic is still very much with us throughout Nepal. Vaccines are beginning to come into the country – but must be fairly distributed. The hospitals must continue to work no matter what challenge presents itself.

  • Give thanks for staff in both hospitals and clusters who have recovered from Covid-19 and are continuing to offer their service to others regardless of risks. Please continue to pray for protection for all as this disease remains a serious and life threatening illness.

  • Remember that UMN is daily communicating with National Government Departments, local authorities, community representatives and leaders. Pray that in all we do the servant attitude and love of Christ would be seen.

  • Jiwan and Sabu will be facilitating Transforming Masculinity Facilitator Training for Nawalparasi church representatives. Pray for the effective training and protection for all participants in this COVID pandemic.
