Prayer Points – June 22
Prayer Points – June 22
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, UMN invites all people of prayer to set aside time daily to ask for God’s help in our work in Nepal. The time suggested for UMN staff is 3.00 pm. For our friends around the world, we ask that you join us either at the equivalent time in your country of 3 pm Nepal time, or whenever you are able. Many have found setting a daily alarm on their phone a useful reminder.
Thank you for your fellowship in prayer.
Joel Hafvenstein

“For I know that through your prayers and God’s provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance.”
(Phil 1:19)
We encourage everyone who is praying for UMN not only to raise our requests but to listen to God on UMN’s behalf. Please take time to read this Bible verse slowly to yourself. Pause and ask God to speak through His Word. Then read it slowly again. Settle and calm your mind before you pray.
Major Matters for Prayer
  • Praise God for the six-month extension of UMN’s general agreement with the Social Welfare Council (SWC) and pray that UMN’s staff and those in SWC will be able to agree UMN’s 5-year agreement within the next 6 months

  • Praise God that UMN’s through its partners in Bajhang, Doti and Rukum and Nawalparasi have been able to provide medical and protective equipment to the village health posts and locally managed quarantine homes. Pray that these materials will be used to support the population vulnerable to covid19

  • Pray for the local level governments in the low land (Terai) that includes two of UMN working locations as they are preparing to work reducing the monsoon related disasters’ impact. Pray especially that the local authorities in bordering India will cooperate in this important work

  • Thank God that the churches across the country are using their knowledge and resources to support people affected by the coronavirus and lock downs. Pray for the wisdom from above as they continue to reach out to those that need the help most

  • Pray for the government managed hospitals and covid19 treatment centers that are lacking testing kits and other PPE equipment amid the worrying increase of the positive cases. Today, the positive cases have gone over 9, 000! Pray that the doctors, nurses and other front liners will be protected as they continue to serve to those infected.
