Prayer Points – November 30
Prayer Points – November 30
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, UMN invites all people of prayer to set aside time daily to ask for God’s help in our work in Nepal. The time suggested for UMN staff is 3.00 pm. For our friends around the world, we ask that you join us either at the equivalent time in your country of 3 pm Nepal time, or whenever you are able. Many have found setting a daily alarm on their phone a useful reminder.
Thank you for your fellowship in prayer.
Joel Hafvenstein

“Pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to him for the lives of your children, who faint from hunger at every street corner.”
(Lamentations 2v19)
We encourage everyone who is praying for UMN not only to raise our requests but to listen to God on UMN’s behalf. Please take time to read this Bible verse slowly to yourself. Pause and ask God to speak through His Word. Then read it slowly again. Settle and calm your mind before you pray.
Major Matters for Prayer
  • Please continue in prayer for all the major issues we have been bringing before you in recent weeks – the search for the next Executive Director for UMN; the seemingly never ending meetings and negotiations with Government officials and legal advisors; the ongoing work to gain Provincial approvals for Hospital agreements. We thank the Lord that in a number of small ways we are being reminded of God’s help and provision which is beyond any human ability.

  • Tansen Mission Hospital asks us to continue in prayer as the hospital is short staffed because some staff are in isolation, having contracted COVID19 and others are off caring for sick relatives. We have been caring for 10 – 16 ill patients in the isolation ward each day. Now the expats cannot work until visas are processed.

  • Please pray for Marianne Brocqueville who has just returned from Tansen to Switzerland for urgent medical treatment.

  • In the coming days pray for the Doti cluster Team led by Bishal Babu Shresta. You may not be familiar with the names, areas or the projects – but ask the help of our Lord who knows all. Please pray for the baseline survey of Saksham project. Surendra Rai is leading and is in Bogtan Fudsil Rural Municipality (RM) supporting our partner organisation. Also, pray for Tirth Timsina, he is in Badikedar RM for supporting BICT project staff for yearend closing. CEAD Nepal and district level line agencies are conducting a joint monitoring visit to Jorayal RM to see activities of IDEA, DiL and Sushasan projects.
