Prayer Points – November 9
Prayer Points – November 9
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, UMN invites all people of prayer to set aside time daily to ask for God’s help in our work in Nepal. The time suggested for UMN staff is 3.00 pm. For our friends around the world, we ask that you join us either at the equivalent time in your country of 3 pm Nepal time, or whenever you are able. Many have found setting a daily alarm on their phone a useful reminder.
Thank you for your fellowship in prayer.
Joel Hafvenstein

Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day,
in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.
(Habakkuk 3v2)
We encourage everyone who is praying for UMN not only to raise our requests but to listen to God on UMN’s behalf. Please take time to read this Bible verse slowly to yourself. Pause and ask God to speak through His Word. Then read it slowly again. Settle and calm your mind before you pray.
Major Matters for Prayer
  • Please continue to pray for our hospitals. Having established the new trust the hope was that agreements would follow easily. However new legislation has added further layers of bureaucracy and it is now necessary to make agreements with the Provincial Governments. This is a new and difficult challenge. Pray for Dr Olak, Kshitij, the hospital directors and all the rest of the team who are communicating with local Government departments in Tansen and Okhaldhunga to get this completed on a very tight schedule.

  • In Tansen, pray for the 12 isolation ward patients and the ward staff caring for them. Please also continue to pray for some UMN staff (& some family members) who are ill with COVID-19.

  • In Rukum pray for the fruitful consultation meeting with the representatives of Rural Municipality regarding the Interim Cluster Strategy Plan. Ramesh, Kul and Suraj will be involved in the meeting

  • Pray for the successful income generation support program in Putha Rural Municipality, Rukum. Hemanta and Jiwan with partner staff will be involved in the program.

  • Pray for the ongoing selection process for UMN’s next Executive Director and new Board members.
