Prayer Points – September 6
Prayer Points – September 6
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, UMN invites all people of prayer to set aside time daily to ask for God’s help in our work in Nepal. The time suggested for UMN staff is 3.00 pm. For our friends around the world, we ask that you join us either at the equivalent time in your country of 3 pm Nepal time, or whenever you are able. Many have found setting a daily alarm on their phone a useful reminder.
Thank you for your fellowship in prayer.
Joel Hafvenstein

Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and
unsearchable things you do not know.
Jeremiah 33:3

We encourage everyone who is praying for UMN not only to raise our requests but to listen to God on UMN’s behalf. Please take time to read this Bible verse slowly to yourself. Pause and ask God to speak through His Word. Then read it slowly again. Settle and calm your mind before you pray.
Major Matters for Prayer
  • Continue in prayer for the Hafvensteins – they have now left Nepal and will be living in the UK for some months to come. Joel continues his responsibilities as Executive Director and along with Dhana is preparing to hand over leadership in November. The help of the Lord is needed in the midst of all these responsibilities.

  • In Rukum prayer is requested for successful agreement with Rural Municipalities in planning for COVID-19 second wave response.

  • Pray for the successful coordination with district level stakeholders for district project advisory committee meeting in Rukum.

  • Again in Rukum please pray for Ramesh and Shiva as Team Leader responsibility is handed over. Pray for Shiva as he takes responsibility for the work and for Ramesh as he prepares to move on to Doti.

  • Over the last few days the Nawalparasi Cluster staff have been bringing relief support to the flood affected people in Sarawal Rural Municipality (148 Households) and Ramgram Municipality (70 House Holds). Please pray that these flood affected communities will be able to recover from this suffering. As always pray that this work will speak of the compassion of UMN for communities in need.

  • Please continue to pray for the approval of UMN Project Agreements with the Government.

  • Pray for Bishal, the successor of Dhana as they handover takeover their roles.

  • Pray for Rakshya who is admitted in the hospital since Friday under doctors observation as she was unwell.
