Back home again
Back home again
Yampa Tamang and her family of ten have just moved back to their land after spending the last eight months “camping” in the fields near Thulo Gaau. She is glad to be back “home”, even though their house is just a pile of rubble. She knows that snow will soon cover the fields of Thulo Gaau, but their land is a little more sheltered. It will still be dreadfully cold, though, and so she is grateful for the warm blankets she has received from UMN.
As well as the initial emergency relief materials and the blankets, Yampa also received a bag of agricultural tools and a seed bag – although she wasn’t sure what that was until it was explained. This bag is designed to keep seeds dry and safe, ready for the planting season. Yampa is looking forward to planting crops and having the satisfaction of seeing the green shoots appear – but that won’t be till spring. In the meantime, there’s the winter to get through.
