It’s always nice to get some recognition for our work, particularly at a local level.
On 11 March, the District Development Committee (DDC) of Rukum recognised United Mission to Nepal, Rukum Cluster, for its contribution to poverty reduction and social transformation. The award was given by Lokendra Bist Magar, former Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, during the annual District Council meeting, in the presence of locals, former ministers, political leaders and high-ranking government officials.
UMN-supported projects are designed using the bottom-up approach and work for the poor and marginalised communities of Rukum. Locals value UMN for its honesty and good relationships.
