We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of two esteemed doctors who served at United Mission Hospital Tansen many years ago.
Dr Tad Gilmore, who worked at the hospital from 1996 to 2003, dedicated his time in Nepal as a surgeon and physician editor. He passed away at the age of 93 on December 9, 2024. His wife, Jane, was also actively involved in leading conferences and women’s programs, making a meaningful impact alongside him.
Dr Keith Fleshman, an orthopaedic surgeon at Tansen from 1987 to 1995, passed away at the age of 92 on February 13, 2025. He often shared that his years in Nepal with his wife, June, were among the happiest of his life.
We feel truly blessed to have had such dedicated individuals as part of UMN’s journey, people who loved Nepal and served with passion and commitment. Their legacy will continue to inspire us.
