We are delighted to share that Dr Rachel Karrach, Hospital Director of United Mission Hospital Tansen (UMHT), has been honoured with the Ausadhi Byewasaayi Sangam award for her significant contribution to healthcare by the Nepal Chemist and Druggist Association (NCDA), during their 7th General Assembly. The award was jointly presented by the Lumbini Province Health Minister and NCDA officials. Dr Karrach, who recently completed 31 years of service at UMHT, expressed her gratitude and shared that this honour reaffirms her commitment to serving in Nepal.
In another exciting update, the UMH Wastewater Treatment Project has been officially inaugurated and handed over to UMHT, following years of hard work from 2017 to 2024! This project, supported by the Rotary Club of Palpa and the Rotary International Global Grant Fund, will treat wastewater from around 300 homes, hotels, and the Tansen Nursing College. We are grateful to Rajendra Prasad Dhoju, the immediate past District Governor of Rotary and Ann-Britt Asebol, a representative of Rotary International, for inaugurating the wastewater treatment.
