Continuing the humanitarian response to flood-affected families, 325 more households have been supported with emergency food rations during the first week of September. When the intensity of rain went beyond control in Nawalparasi District, houses were damaged and locals were in urgent need of help. With the end of monsoon and flood levels under control, thankfully families have been able to go back to their homes. But those who have faced property damage are still taking shelter in their neighbourhood and received support of tarpaulins and foam mats from the local municipality as well.
Since the final week of August, UMN’s Nawalparasi Team along with our local partner organisation have been able to reach out to 846 households with emergency food rations and 35 households with tarpaulins. We pray and hope that the affected families will be able to get back to their normal lives soon.
