The Okaldhunga Hospital celebrated its 49 years of service on 21 March 2011 . The event held included a number of local dignitaries. Mark Galpin, as Executive Director, represented UMN.
A cheque was handed over from the local Rai community for the building of the hospital extension.  Gauharka Rai, who had donated the land originally for the hospital, handed the cheque to Mark Galpin. 

The hospital community has already started plans in preparation for the golden jubilee celebration next year.

Hearty congratulations to all those working at Okhaldhunga Hospital now, and thanks to those whose service and support in the past has helped provide quality medical care in this remote community.
