UMN’s cluster in Rukum East teamed up with MIC Nepal and organised an awareness programme on combating plastic pollution and conserving Yarsagumba at Pupal Lek, Rukum. Over 50 participants joined the rally with placards despite the challenging weather.

Similarly, in Kapilvastu, UMN, along with its local partner Dalit Social Development Centre, the local government, Armed Police Force, and the local community disaster management committees jointly marked this occasion by planting 500 bamboo saplings in the in the flood-prone riverbank of Banganga in Khoriya village. Youth Clubs also organised tree plantations, a sanitation programme, a sack management programme for waste collection, and awareness sessions on reducing plastic use.
