We have just been informed about Clarice Norine Solvik’s passing at the age of 95, on 14 March 2025.

Clarice served at United Mission Hospital Tansen (UMHT) with her husband Neil from 1974 to 1990. Her home was always open, offering a place for snacks, tea, and a listening ear. As a dedicated teacher of the Tansen Tutorial Group, Clarice guided the children of expat staff through elementary schooling with great care. Together with Neil, she supported many young Nepali men and women through school, even helping build homes for some.

Clarice treasured relationships, be they with family, friends, neighbours, or strangers. Her warmth and generosity will be remembered by all whose lives she touched. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Solvik family.
