Remembering a century well lived
Remembering a century well lived

Dr Marjory Foyle’s long and inspirational life has drawn to a close. She slipped away peacefully in her sleep at 3 am on 9 April 2025, aged 103, and was called home to the Lord whom she loved and served for so many years.

Marjory, who served as a gynaecologist in United Mission Hospital Tansen (UMHT) from 1956 to 1960, touched the hearts of many. UMHT meant a great deal to her, and she would want us to thank all those who remember her time working there in its early days. For the past six years, Marjory was lovingly cared for at David’s House care home, where several of the staff from Nepal were able to speak with her in Nepali.

We are thankful for Marjory’s long and meaningful life. She will be remembered with love.

Sad news, but a life well lived, with a huge legacy left behind. I have fond memories of her visiting our family home in Kathmandu, and being able to connect with her in the UK too.
