Last week in Kathmandu, a national workshop on Interfaith Peace and Harmony was jointly organised by UMN, its partner Community Development Forum (CDF) and Interfaith Peace Network from Morang. This was the third such national consultation which included a talk given by Dave Andrews from Australia who has a rich experience working in interfaith issues. He covered the topic of meaningful interfaith engagements for engaging faith leaders to advocate for justice.
Another important aspect of the event was felicitation and honouring of 15 interfaith religious leaders as the project has now phased out. Dr. Mahendra Bhattarai, UMN Board Member and the special guest of the event honoured the leaders. To continue the good work, UMN along with 11 organisations and religious institutions working in the field of interfaith have formed Interfaith Peace Federation Nepal.
