The Interfaith Peace Network (IPN), Morang, based in Sunsari, organised an inter-faith workshop with its partner Community Development Forum on 24 November 2016. The aim of the workshop was to disseminate interfaith peace experiences into national level, to establish a national network and build relationships and to share and learn about other organisations’ experience of interfaith peace-building. The programme was chaired by current coordinator of IPN Morang, Rajendra Prasad Dhakal.
72 people attended and eight religions were represented at the workshop, including Jain, Bahai, Sikh, Baudra, Hindu, Muslim, Kirat and Christian. The interfaith networks shared briefly about their work and the religious leaders brought a short greeting. UMN’s Executive Director, Joel Hafvenstein and the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland brought greetings to those gathered. It was an interesting and worthwhile meeting which will hopefully lead to more collaborative interfaith activities in future.
