A group of UMN staff joined a rally which commenced this morning to celebrate the 38th Social Service Day with an inaugural session by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari. A twenty-member subcommittee was formed by Social Welfare Council (SWC) to discuss the key agendas to mark and celebrate the day under the leadership of SWC Board Member Laxmi Koirala. A bunch of UMN staff including the Executive Director, Joel Hafvenstein marched in the rally waving UMN flags.

The celebration was held for three days starting from 20 September which involved a cleaning campaign and a candle lighting ceremony on 21 September in Ratna Park which concurred with the International Day of Peace.
