With UMN’s support, a 2-day free health camp was organised for 3 rural municipalities in Rukum East, reaching 522 people, where over 400 mental health issues were identified. In addition, free medication and psychosocial counselling services were provided to those in need.
To strengthen local healthcare, a mental health refresher training was also conducted, supporting the rural municipalities in planning mental health programmes and providing onsite coaching for trained health workers.
We extend our gratitude to the local leaders, healthcare professionals, and our partner organisation, Nepal Public Awakening Forum, for making this initiative a success!
