Various leading organisations including UMN came together at Nepal Pragya Pratisthan, Kathmandu to support the World Aids Day event led by National Center of AIDS and STI Control. The main objective of this extensive event was to spread the awareness and share HIV related facts among the general public. Honorable Minister for Health and Population Mr. Ram Janam Chaudhary including other key personnel from Ministry, Bilateral Organization and Civil Society showed their commitment to end the HIV epidemic in Nepal. The theme this year was ‘Getting to Zero: Zero new infections, zero discrimination and zero AIDS related deaths’.
The event included open stalls for free HIV test, thematic sessions on HIV prevention, testing, treatment and care, documentary screening and an acoustic musical programme. The highlight of UMN’s stall was free face-painting on the HIV theme and HIV IQ test where more than 200 people enthusiastically participated and won UMN’s HIV pin badges.
