In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, UMN invites all people of prayer to set aside time daily to ask for God’s help in our work in Nepal. The time suggested for UMN staff is 3.00 pm. For our friends around the world, we ask that you join us either at the equivalent time in your country of 3 pm Nepal time, or whenever you are able. Many have found setting a daily alarm on their phone a useful reminder.
Thank you for your fellowship in prayer.

“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.â€
(Hebrews 4:16)
We encourage everyone who is praying for UMN not only to raise our requests but to listen to God on UMN’s behalf. Please take time to read this Bible verse slowly to yourself. Pause and ask God to speak through His Word. Then read it slowly again. Settle and calm your mind before you pray.
Major Matters for Prayer
Five new house officers (junior doctors) have joined the Tansen hospital team from Aug 1st. Pray for them as they are keen to learn and settle into the work quickly.
The hot, monsoon season is continuing, and Okhaldhunga hospital is busy with regular patients many who have delayed attendance due to lockdown and fear of COVID-19. There have been many births in hospital. Pray that we will care well for each other as the COVID-19 shadow looms over us. New doctors and nurses are being recruited – please pray for this process that good people will be appointed
Recently, there was a sudden surge in the cases of Covid-19 in Kapilvastu where 799 people contracted the virus. Our working Rural Municipalities, Yashodhara and Mayadevi have 168 and 75 cases respectively. Pray for the health and safety of the people as well as for our partner organizations who are working in these areas.
In Doti, there are still more than 900 people staying in local quarantines and 128 COVID-19 positive active cases. It seems increasing trend in Doti district. Pray for the people staying in local quarantines and COVID-19 positive patients under treatment. Doti Cluster is planning to restart its halted ongoing projects in coordination and consultation with local government.
