Prayer Points – December 21
Prayer Points – December 21
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, UMN invites all people of prayer to set aside time daily to ask for God’s help in our work in Nepal. The time suggested for UMN staff is 3.00 pm. For our friends around the world, we ask that you join us either at the equivalent time in your country of 3 pm Nepal time, or whenever you are able. Many have found setting a daily alarm on their phone a useful reminder.
Thank you for your fellowship in prayer.
Joel Hafvenstein

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
(John 1v14)
We encourage everyone who is praying for UMN not only to raise our requests but to listen to God on UMN’s behalf. Please take time to read this Bible verse slowly to yourself. Pause and ask God to speak through His Word. Then read it slowly again. Settle and calm your mind before you pray.
Major Matters for Prayer
  • Let us give praise to the Lord who has guided the Board of UMN in its search for a new Executive Director. Ms Dhana Lama has been appointed to this vital role and in the coming months will be working closely with Joel Hafvenstein in the handover process. In this time of transition please pray for them and for the ongoing work and challenges in these days.

  • UMN Staff continue to deal with many daily challenges raised by the pandemic. It is difficult to maintain care and discipline in safeguarding against infection, especially as in many areas people have relaxed their guard. Pray for our staff and our partner organisations who all need to act to protect one another.

  • The work of interacting with various Government departments continues to be slow. We need to renew our General and Project Agreements, Visas need to be issued for Ex-Pats, Agreements regarding hospital work in the provinces – please pray for greater speed and progress in resolving these matters so that work can continue.

  • Pray for the group of 43 participants who attended the Sangsangai training in East Rukum last week. The training was aimed at motivating churches toward practical demonstrations of God’s love in their localities and especially to focus upon issues of child marriage and reducing this traditional practice.

  • In Rukum, pray for the team of Suraj with two consultant as they are visiting fields to conduct an assessment on agriculture sub-sector analysis. Likewise, Kul with partner staff visiting schools to provide learning materials. Schools in Rukum East has been started to resumed after long time.

  • Please pray for Gokarn and his family as he lost his mother on Sunday and the rituals during this time of Covid 19.
