Prayer Points – February 1
Prayer Points – February 1
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, UMN invites all people of prayer to set aside time daily to ask for God’s help in our work in Nepal. The time suggested for UMN staff is 3.00 pm. For our friends around the world, we ask that you join us either at the equivalent time in your country of 3 pm Nepal time, or whenever you are able. Many have found setting a daily alarm on their phone a useful reminder.
Thank you for your fellowship in prayer.
Joel Hafvenstein

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
We encourage everyone who is praying for UMN not only to raise our requests but to listen to God on UMN’s behalf. Please take time to read this Bible verse slowly to yourself. Pause and ask God to speak through His Word. Then read it slowly again. Settle and calm your mind before you pray.
Major Matters for Prayer
  • Vaccinations have arrived at both our hospitals. The front line staff are being vaccinated and Tansen hospital is the centre for two rural municipalities. The first ten people were vaccinated on 28th Jan and phase one will take a further ten days. Pray for the oversight and work of this process.

  • In Doti Cluster Please pray for Cheli and Surendra who are facilitating a 7 day workshop for Gender Equality in Bogtan Fudsil RM. There are 32 participants from 24 community women groups of Saksham project. The main objective is to learn and practice facilitating the group participatory action and reflection process for gender equality.

  • Also in Doti pray for core team involving and preparing new health project for Bogtan RM. Pray for wisdom and God’s grace for approval from the funding donor. It needs to complete by 15 Feb.

  • Give praise to God that in Bajhang, despite a six months closure of our office, the concluding of our projects for 2020 (EVE, FS, IDRP, DDD, IMH) completed well. Most of the activities were implemented as planned. Cluster and partner staff successfully utilized most of the allocated budget. Given the difficulties this is work very well done and we praise our Lord.

  • In Bajhang the team ask for prayer for good interpersonal relations with partner NGO staff, community groups, beneficiaries and powerholders in the working areas. Pray for the contact office set up by a partner NGO in the palika. May the Lord give willingness and passion to cluster and partner staff for engaging effectively in community.

  • Please also remember previous requests from previous weeks for prayer about our ongoing talks with Government regarding agreements and future plans.
