Prayer Points – February 8
Prayer Points – February 8
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, UMN invites all people of prayer to set aside time daily to ask for God’s help in our work in Nepal. The time suggested for UMN staff is 3.00 pm. For our friends around the world, we ask that you join us either at the equivalent time in your country of 3 pm Nepal time, or whenever you are able. Many have found setting a daily alarm on their phone a useful reminder.
Thank you for your fellowship in prayer.
Joel Hafvenstein

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
(Psalm 91v1)
We encourage everyone who is praying for UMN not only to raise our requests but to listen to God on UMN’s behalf. Please take time to read this Bible verse slowly to yourself. Pause and ask God to speak through His Word. Then read it slowly again. Settle and calm your mind before you pray.
Major Matters for Prayer
  • Some requests are becoming repetitive – but that only emphasises their importance. Please pray for rapid approval for our GA and Interim PA, and for wisdom as we shape our 5 year PAs in light of stricter-than-ever government requirements. Pray wisdom for the Leadership Team as they meet this week to consider where we now stand.
  • Bajhang Cluster is implementing a new project – ‘SRIJANA Creating Economic Opportunity for Wellbeing of Migrant Returnees’ in Thalara, Bajhang. Ms Manita Ale has been recruited as the new project manager. Pray for her and all the work of getting the project underway.
  • Doti Cluster: pray for the pre-consensus agreement for next five years with working palikas and also the preparation of provincial level Project Agreement of Far West Province. Both pre-consensus agreements and Project Agreement will be approved and signed by the local government. These need to be completed by the end of February.
  • Also in Doti Cluster: pray for the successful implementation of research on migration under Samman project and new project (CORD) need assessment in Bogtan RM. Geographically, Bogtan very remote making travel and progress challenging. Pray that all personnel from Thapathali, partner and cluster will complete the assigned works on time and be able to submit the proposal to the funding donor by the end of February.
  • Continue to remember all of our hospital staff in their work, and pray for rapid progress in the vaccination of the most vulnerable.
