Prayer Points – October 19
Prayer Points – October 19
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, UMN invites all people of prayer to set aside time daily to ask for God’s help in our work in Nepal. The time suggested for UMN staff is 3.00 pm. For our friends around the world, we ask that you join us either at the equivalent time in your country of 3 pm Nepal time, or whenever you are able. Many have found setting a daily alarm on their phone a useful reminder.
Thank you for your fellowship in prayer.
Joel Hafvenstein

“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
(Jeremiah 33:3)
We encourage everyone who is praying for UMN not only to raise our requests but to listen to God on UMN’s behalf. Please take time to read this Bible verse slowly to yourself. Pause and ask God to speak through His Word. Then read it slowly again. Settle and calm your mind before you pray.
Major Matters for Prayer
  • UMN has started the recruitment process for our next Executive Director, and the deadline for applications closes today.  Please pray for the Board as they review the applications received and shortlist for interviews in November.  We trust that God will bring us the right person as he has in the past.

  • Tansen Hospital is beginning to see more COVID-19 cases in Tansen and are planning to expand hospital isolation beds as referral options are decreasing.  Please pray for the staff protection from infection both inside and outside the hospital and for seriously ill patients that we are treating.

  • Tansen – Pray for our pastoral care team as they give spiritual emotional and financial support to patients.

  • Pray for all our cluster teams (Rukum, Nawalparasi, Kapilvastu, Doti, Bhajang, Mugu and Dhading Disaster Response Team) in these early days after return to office. Pray that each team will work together carefully and in safety as they contact partners and local people.

  • The Dasain/Tihar holiday period is now upon us and, regardless of Government appeals, many people will be travelling around the country. The pandemic has been spreading rapidly. Some days there have been up to 5000 new infections. Please pray that this time of great movement around the country will not be the cause of a major spike of new infection.
