Prayer Priorities – August 2, 2022
“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.â€

We encourage everyone who is praying for UMN not only to raise our requests but to listen to God on UMN’s behalf. Please take time to read this Bible verse slowly to yourself. Pause and ask God to speak through His Word. Then read it slowly again. Settle and calm your mind before you pray.
Praise
- This week Tansen Hospital will farewell Sister Gomati, after 40 years full time faithful service – most of those years in the anaesthesia department. We have many staff who have been present for decades or retired after life-long service. Give praise to God for their commitment over so many years. “We serve, Jesus healsâ€
- Praise God that our driver Ramesh Shivabhakti has a baby girl born last night – both mother and child are safe and sound. We rejoice with them.
Prayer
- Yet again we ask your continued prayer for the Property issue for our Thapathali headquarters. After hoping for clear verdicts on Monday and Tuesday, both the Supreme and High Court Hearings have been postponed upon the request of Himal Hydro. The High Court hearing will probably take place on 29 August, but the Supreme Court is postponed until January 2023. Pray about all preparations for this and for final resolution.
- Continue to pray for Sagar Gaudel’s father, who has been in ICU. Pray also for Hazel Wong who has been ill for over a week.
- The COVID infection rate is increasing quickly in Nepal. Please pray protection for us all. At this time the husband of Cheli Gurung is now COVID positive and Cheli is also having some symptoms.
- Clusters and ITS team have been working to finalise the strategic plans, may they be strongly aligned to fulfil the organisational Vision, Mission and Values.
- The Leadership Team meet this week to discuss on various agenda, finalising Vision, Mission and Values Workshop Guideline and to go through the Transforming Work session. Please pray for wisdom and guidance.
- Pray for the Finance Team as they go through the Annual Auditing process and for all the Teams who have been working on various Reports.
- Pray for wisdom and guidance in the process of appointing a new Project manager- Disability inclusive development.
Clusters
- In Rukum, please pray for Sangsangai’s fourth training workshop to facilitators of 11 churches under the ABLE project. Pray for Jiwan, Hemanta and local Partner staff and church members as they learn and plan together.
- Please pray for the external audit of Rukum cluster and projects held from 3-10 August 2022.
- Bajhang – Please pray for the new Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) project proposal in Bajhang which is going to be assessed by the supporting partner Cordaid this week.
- As the monsoon rains seem to be increasing in many areas, all our clusters are subject to flooding and landslide. Please pray for the safety and protection of community people and our own staff who need to travel in these areas. Pray that work in all Clusters will continue safely
Tansen Hospital
- Please pray for the doctors and nurses working in the medical wards including the High Dependency Unit – where the sickest patients are found. It is challenging work.
