Prayer Priorities – December 21
“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
John 1v14

We encourage everyone who is praying for UMN not only to raise our requests but to listen to God on UMN’s behalf. Please take time to read this Bible verse slowly to yourself. Pause and ask God to speak through His Word. Then read it slowly again. Settle and calm your mind before you pray.

Praise
  • On Tuesday morning UMN had the honour of signing the Covid Response Project Agreement with the Government of Nepal. This opens doors for UMN and we give praise that hard work and much prayer has resulted in this step forward.

  • In Tansen the COVID numbers are so low that we will transfer isolation back to the three, two-bedded rooms after the remaining two patients were discharged today.

  • Praise God that Okhaldhunga Community Hospital have completed and signed their hospital land and property ownership transfer to UMN MDT today (Tuesday) and expect to receive their landowner certificate on Wednesday.  Meanwhile thank God that United Mission Hospital Tansen recently obtained registration with the Ministry of Health, Population and Family Welfare of Lumbini Province.

  •  We have been praying for a number of our staff and their families who have been ill. Let’s give praise for answered prayer – for example, Tara’s mother is out of danger and is now back home from the hospital, on medicine, without needing any surgical procedures.
Prayer
  • That the other main project agreements – one Interim and three Provincial will also be approved soon. These are vital to enable work to move forward with confidence.

  • For the Hafvenstein family in UK. Joel’s son Caleb has tested positive for Covid. Today (Tue) Joel is feeling unwell and is being tested. This has affected all Christmas celebration and travel plans. Please pray for the recovery of the whole family.

  • In Nawalparasi pray for the phase out programme planned for the Anti-Human Trafficking (AHT) project in the last week of December. Pray for the ongoing work of our partner organisation Sungabha Community Development Centre Rudrapur (SCDCR).

  • In Rukum a Manager is needed for the Pro-ACT project. Pray that the right person will be selected.

  • For Bajhang Cluster pray for the phase out of the Food Security project. Masta is one of the food insecure municipalities in Bajhang. UMN engaged with farmers groups, women and poor families in 1,000 households. Pray that these families will continue to use the ideas and resources and become self-resilient even after phaseout of the project.

  • For our hospitals, pray for those working in the central office as soon we will be processing visas and work permits for those expatriate volunteers who are coming in early 2022. We also need to process renewals of the visas and work permits for those who are working in the hospitals currently.

  • The hospitals are still waiting for money from the ‘Health Insurance Board’ for three months’ work. This money is vital to maintain cash flow as 70% of the medical work is part of this scheme. In Okhaldhunga the oxygen plant equipment has not yet arrived. Please pray this happens soon.
