Prayer Priorities – February 22, 2022
“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
Matthew 18:20

We encourage everyone who is praying for UMN not only to raise our requests but to listen to God on UMN’s behalf. Please take time to read this Bible verse slowly to yourself. Pause and ask God to speak through His Word. Then read it slowly again. Settle and calm your mind before you pray.

Praise
  • Praise the Lord again for the Community Development (Interim) Project Agreement 2020-2022 signed with the Government last week. Local & Global prayer has been answered and God continuously sustained us to go through the process.

  • We are delighted to reopen the Kathmandu Office physically from Monday. Thank God for healing and sustaining us/our loved ones through the third wave.

  • Give thanks that the financial monitoring and verification of the SECURE project in Kapilvastu went well.
Prayer
  • Please continue to uphold us in prayers for the approval of 3 more long term Project Agreements. This Thursday (24th) one of them (the Sudurpaschim Far West) is going to be presented to the Facilitation Committee (a government body comprised of representatives from various Ministries), so that they could approve it. It is one of the crucial moments where wisdom and understanding of the project is needed.

  • Please continue to pray for Rabbi from ITS (who is going through chemotherapy) and Bhagirath from Grant Management’s mother (she had brain surgery few months ago but having seizures) and their families for the strength and courage to go through these hardships. Please also continue to pray for Bikash Adhikari (Director of an NGO who facilitate for people coming to Kathmandu for disability treatments, including those referred by UMN). He has been in hospital for over 3 months following severe COVID. Despite big improvements he is still facing risks and has a long recovery ahead. Let us continue praying for stability and complete recovery.

  • In Tansen please pray for the planning process which is still going on, and insurance reimbursement issues. Also pray for our pastoral care team as each day they counsel patients in distress and assess patients for free care. Pray for the Jang family as they are on their way home to South Korea.

  • For successful agreement of 2 projects between UMN Nawalparasi Cluster and partner organisation Sunwal Community Development Center (SCDC-S): ‘Ending domestic violence through community dialogue and mediation’ project, and ‘Gender equality’ (Samanata) project.

  • Also in Nawalparasi, please pray for the successful agreement of Relive project between the Social Welfare Council (SWC) of Nepal and partner organisation INDRENI. SWC is asking for several supportive documents.

  • In Kapilvastu, remember Melsan, Parsu Ram, Rup Kumar, and an external consultant as they evaluate phase one of the SECURE project. Please pray for the trustworthy and fair evaluation of the project interventions.

  • Also in Kapilvastu, the Children, Youth and Community for Change (CYCC) project is preparing to organise a workshop on “How to work Moodle software” for schools in Mayadevi Rural Municipality. Please pray for the successful implementation of Moodle in schools. (Moodle is on-line educational software which helps teachers and pupils manage and improve learning)
