Mental health support reaches 302 in Rukum East

From 31 March to 2 April 2026, UMN and its partner organisation, Nepal Public Awakening Forum, organised a mental health screening camp in Rukum East, providing counselling services and free medicines.

Among the 302 individuals screened, 201 were diagnosed with mild to severe mental health conditions, including alcohol use disorder. A total of 73 individuals also received one-on-one counselling from a psychologist.

Plans are in place to link all the diagnosed patients with their local health facility, ensuring access to trained health workers and free medicines.
