Repairing of trail bridges helps to ease the lives of locals
The 2015 earthquake was devastating as it triggered landslide and damaged several trail bridges caused by falling of the rocks. Due to this people of Lapa, Ree and Jharlang VDCs were facing difficulties to access market. Damaged trail bridges had caused hindrance in movement and even in searching fodder and fuel wood to the villagers.
At the same time, children faced difficulties to attend their schools. Considering such difficulty, two Trail Bridges were repaired under restoration of local and small scale public infrastructure with the support from ICCO fund. Due to this step taken, 1370 households (HHS) in total from the above mentioned VDCs are being benefitted by better movements and transportation nowadays. Beside direct beneficiaries, all three VDCs are relieved after re-construction of major walking trail bridges. One Trial bridge (Kapoor Gaun-Lapchet) is under construction and the part of its reconstruction was supported by ICCO fund and remaining cost of maintenance will be covered by DDRP budget.
