We are deeply saddened to share the passing of our dear friend and missionary, Dr Risto Gobius, on Tuesday, 4 November 2025, at the age of 98.

Dr Gobius served as the Director of Tansen Hospital from 1989 to 1995, dedicating himself wholeheartedly to his work and to the people of Nepal. His faithful service, compassionate leadership, and humble example have left a lasting legacy and a clear path for many to follow in the years ahead.

He often reminded those around him that the hospital was ‘God’s hospital’ and he truly lived a life that reflected his deep faith and commitment to God’s calling.

It is a comfort to know that he has gone Home to be with his Maker, and though we mourn his loss, we give thanks for a life so well lived.
