World Health Day!
World Health Day!
“UMN envisions a society with Fullness of life where people experience wellbeing and a dignified life. Through our work closer to the remote and rural parts of Nepal, we understand that poor health is one of the causes of poverty and poor health itself is not a choice but culmination of multiple social determinants which define the health of the individual and their communities. We are working both through our two hospitals to impart quality health services in Tansen and Okhaldhunga and through our local partners in 10 districts to improve the health of the most marginalised.
“This year we are celebrating World Health Day amidst a pandemic which has shattered the capacity and resources of the health systems around the world. While the world is struggling to address COVID and countries are racing to get vaccines, we would like to express our commitment to keep contributing towards ‘building fairer and healthier communities in Nepal’.”
– Rakshya Niroula, Thematic Lead: Health
