Prayer Priorities – March 7, 2023

“But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

We encourage everyone who is praying for UMN not only to raise our requests but to listen to God on UMN’s behalf. Please take time to read this Bible verse slowly to yourself. Pause and ask God to speak through His Word. Then read it slowly again. Settle and calm your mind before you pray.

Praise

  1. Praise God for the safe and fruitful donor visits from Cordaid and KIA last week. They visited beneficiaries and project team of SRIJANA and DRM projects. They also discussed with the Chairpersons and key stakeholders of Thalara Rural Municipality, Bajhang.
  2. Give thanks to the Lord for the completion of seven days earthquake resistant mason training to local masons at Thalara Rural Municipality, Bajhang. In the closing ceremony, all the 44 local masons declared that they would apply the new techniques of building construction that they learnt in the training.
  3. Praise God for successful and fruitful visit of Suraj, Niki and Hasta from Tearfund to Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality, Rukum East.
  4. Praise God for successful assessment of Children with Disability by Prem Devkota in Rukum East.
  5. Praise God for the rain last week.
  6. Praise God for all staff working in the laundry department for their hard work.
  7. Give thanks to the Lord for the fruitful monitoring visit from FELM in Soru and Mugum Karmarong Rural Municipalities in Mugu.
  8. Praise God for the success of the Engage Disability National Conference-2023, 1-3 March, organized by National Christian Disability Network this week. 350 church leaders from all over Nepal actively participated in the conference.

Prayer

  1. Please pray for the successful celebration of International Women’s Day as it will be celebrated all over the world, in Nepal and in UMN with the theme Innovation and technology for gender equality
  2. Continue to pray for the political leaders and the upcoming Presidential Election, may they all rise for the benefit of nation and its people. It has been very unstable coalition government.
  3. UMN, as per its strategy, is expanding its work in two new clusters in Madhesh and Karnali Provinces. Please pray that God will provide the needed resources for the timely start up and continuation of the work in these new clusters.
  4. Let’s continue to pray for Turkey and Syria. Pray for the bereaved families and the people affected by the devastating earthquake and also for the second phase of the response work.
  5. Please continue to uphold us for expat visa issue, may this be resolved on time with a smooth process. There are also lots of vacant positions for expats, may these be filled on time. It has impacted on our operational works and morale. Please pray for a successful recruitment process.
  6. Continue to pray for UMN’s local partners in all clusters for effective performance, may they serve with integrity.
  7. Please continue to pray for Rabbi for successful treatment and complete healing.
  8. Continue to pray for the resolution of the long-standing property dispute at UMN’s Thapathali headquarters.


Cluster Work

  1. Please pray for the three-day parenting education training using the International Child Development Programme (ICDP) model to the facilitators in Bajhang.
  2. Please pray for successful completion of Sangsangai Fourth Facilitators Training at Mahat, Rukum East. Please uphold all the facilitators and the trainer Jiwan Rai in your prayer.
  3. Please pray for the travel of Shiva, Niraj and Jiwan from Rukum to Kathmandu this week.
  4. Please pray for the celebration of Women’s Day program which will be organized by Advance Community Transformation project in coordination with partner and Rural Municipality in East Rukum.
  5. Please pray for the monitoring visit from Tearfund Australia in Mugu cluster next week.


Tansen Hospital

  1. Please pray for our high dependency unit staff (adult and neonatal baby) for the nurses and doctors caring for our most critical patients.
  2. Pray for the strategy planning meetings for hospitals and UMN Medical and Development Trust this week.
  3. Continue to pray for land permissions for the wastewater system and our relationship with the national health insurance board.


Okhaldhunga Hospital

  1. Please pray for the 2 days of 5 years planning workshop to be fruitful. Pray for God’s wisdom and guidance upon all involved.
  2. Pray for the hospital team as we continue to work on the values of the hospital.
  3. Pray for the fund raising for waste management.
  4. Please remember all the nurses who work in the maternity ward in your prayers.
