UMN signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Patan Hospital in June 07. This describes UMN’s involvement in the hospital in terms of secondment of expatriate personnel, capacity building hospital staff, channelling of financial support and being on the hospital Board. This commitment will continue until July 2008, the previously agreed date.

In March, the cabinet agreed to the HDCS proposed agreements for the running of Tansen and Okhaldhunga hospitals but there have been unprecedented delays in having this decision implemented by the Ministry of Health.
